The Denmark Pavilion, located just 150 meters from the Arc de Triomphe by Maison du Danemark, invites you to experience its cultural calendar of events and permanent exhibitions, including digital ‘art-pieces’ in loop and mini-concerts performed by five Danish artists.

Discover the wonders of Danish culture at the Denmark Pavilion during the 2024 Paris Olympics. Located just 150 meters from the famous Arc de Triomphe by Maison du Danemark, our pavilion offers a glimpse into the world of Danish creativity. We’re transforming the Danish church, Frederikskirken, at the heart of our pavilion into a cultural hub. Our performances feature a mix of digital exhibitions, sound art, and captivating acts by Danish musicians with international potential. Each artist brings their unique flair to the stage, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all.

Intimate Concerts

Embark on a musical journey with thirty intimate concerts, featuring performances by Dayyani, JJ Paulo, Brimheim, Lydmor, and Teitur. These talented musicians, selected in a collaboration between VisitDenmark, Le Bicolore / Maison du Danemark, and ROSA (Danish Rock Council), showcase the pinnacle of Danish musical talent. The lineup represents a spectrum of sounds, from distinctly Nordic flavours to those seamlessly blending into a French sonic landscape, characterised by genres such as electro and afro beats. Each artist will present two daily showcase concerts over three consecutive days, each lasting approximately 20 minutes. Read more here

Digital Art Pieces on Loop

In collaboration with some of Denmark’s highly regarded museums and cultural institutions, visitors can enjoy digital art pieces.

Letter to a Cycad

Embark on a visual journey with 'Letter to a Cycad,' an award-winning documentary produced by the Natural History Museum Denmark. Delve into the botanical expedition of Copenhagen's oldest living plant, narrated poetically to explore evolution and humanity's influence on nature. Experience the beauty and depth of this film, praised internationally for its captivating storytelling.

Let Your Voice be Heard

Experience 'Let Your Voice be Heard' by the Danish National Girls’ Choir, celebrating the profound impact of the human voice and honouring the legacy of N.F.S. Grundtvig. This captivating performance blends traditional Danish hymnology with contemporary compositions, empowering young women through song. Founded in 1938, the choir embodies Grundtvig’s ideals, showcasing the enduring influence of youth voices in shaping the future.

Enter the Fairytale

'Enter the Fairytale' is a tribute to the world-famous fairy tale writer, Hans Christian Andersen, and his ability to understand and tell about the world in all its beauty and brutality. Experience the world from the perspective of a steadfast tin soldier. He is steadfast, and steadfast he stands through everything on his long journey, but without the opportunity to express himself and his inner life to the world. This digital art piece is provided by Hans Christian Andersen's House in the city of Odense, a museum dedicated to bringing Andersen's timeless tales to life.

Gymnopedie by Ying-Hsueh Chen

Discover 'Gymnopedie,' a captivating sound art piece by percussionist and composer Ying-Hsueh Chen, showcased at the pavilion. This mesmerizing work, inspired by Erik Satie, intertwines themes of time, architecture, and environmental consciousness, offering a meditative journey. Chen's use of the marimba brings buildings to life, transforming an abandoned water tower into a singing structure. Selected for its Danish artistic excellence, 'Gymnopedie' invites viewers to rediscover the lost instinct of playing with sound and surroundings. Chen is of Taiwanese origin and has been residing in Denmark since 2006.
