A Royal opening
This afternoon, T.M. The King and The Queen of Denmark formally opened The Denmark Pavilion by Maison du Denmark in the heart of Paris.
Here the public will be able to experience a unique window to Denmark, while the 33rd Olympics takes place.
The Denmark Pavilion is hosted by VisitDenmark, and it was CEO of VisitDenmark Katja Moesgaard who – together with the Danish Ambassador to France Michael Starbæk Christensen – greeted the Royal couple at the entrance.
The Danish National Girl’s Choir brought the pavilion to life, before the speakers took the stage, and Their Majesties cut the ribbon to the pavilion which will be open for everyone to explore throughout the 17 days of the Olympics.
In her opening speech, Katja Moesgaard pointed out how the pavilion aims to inspire visitors from all over the world with Danish ideas, innovation and lifestyle.
“Denmark is a small country with room for big ideas. It’s a nation of innovative thinkers dedicated to make a difference – big and small. We celebrate the ideas that inspire and contribute to create a better way of living - and as we know community driven change has been part of the Danish DNA for centuries,” she said.
The Denmark Pavilion is showcasing the good life from various perspectives with a particular focus on Danish strengths such as design, food, health, and sustainable solutions. A total of 22 business enterprises, cultural attractions, tourist destinations and organizations are participating, including companies like LEGO Group, Nordisk, and GN Group.
At the heart of the pavilion is the Danish church, Frederikskirken, which has been transformed into a cultural hub, where digital exhibitions, sound art, and captivating acts by Danish musicians will be performed daily.
The Denmark Pavilion warmly welcomes everyone, offering free entry every day from 26th July to 11th August.
