Stouby Beach

On the north side of Vejle Fjord lies the wellness hotel Hotel Vejlefjord. At the end of their beautiful park with historical spa paths, there is a small beach and a lovely bathing jetty, which is freely accessible to everyone.

The north side of Vejle Fjord is characterized by Denmark's longest coastal forest and marked slopes and cliffs. Here, in the rugged and unspoiled landscape, nature reigns supreme—except near the old sanatorium south of Stouby, which today operates as one of the country's finest wellness hotels. Here lies a beautifully landscaped park that stands in stark contrast to the surrounding more untouched nature.

Down by the water is a small beach with a long bathing bridge. This is not a classic long and wide bathing beach with an ice cream kiosk, lifeguards, and the whole works. No, Stouby Beach is a quiet and peaceful place to take a dip in the water, surrounded by a visually beautiful tapestry of nature. And the water quality is excellent.

The bathing bridge is frequently used by hotel guests who come in their bathrobes, but it is accessible to everyone.

The beach is not large and is bordered on both sides by large stones and trees that grow at the water's edge. The bottom is relatively stony and covered with seaweed. Behind the very small beach is a grassy area where you can relax. However, there are essentially no other facilities at the beach itself. But it only takes a short walk through the beautiful park along the rhododendron bushes to reach the hotel and its free parking lot.

At Hotel Vejlefjord, there are toilets available. There is also a nice restaurant, Brasseriet, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch or a cup of coffee and cake. If you have planned and booked in advance, you can combine a dip in Vejle Fjord with a visit to the hotel’s impressive spa area, which is filled with thermal baths of various kinds. It's a huge experience!

We also recommend taking a walk along the historic treatment paths that were previously used to treat patients. The routes wind through the park, forest, and along the coast, and there are many exciting and quirky details along the way. One of the spa paths leads to the beautiful Træskohage Lighthouse.
