The Rose Park in Aalestrup

The Rose Park is situated in a magnificent natural setting by the Simested River, providing the roses with the best showcase imaginable.

15,000 roses in 225 different varieties bloom here. You can see climbing roses, shrub roses, large-flowered roses, and bouquet roses.

The park is open to everyone, and you can enjoy the beautiful park with its stunning roses.

The Rose Park is an experience of colors and scents in a picturesque environment. The main attraction is the roses, and there is a very large selection. From English roses to historical roses, Renaissance roses, castle roses, large-flowered roses, just to name a few. These are spread across no less than about 225 different varieties.

It is not surprising that there are so many roses, as the original idea was to plant 10,000 roses together on the slope down to the Simested River. This creates the perfect setting for a major attraction both in Denmark and abroad.

In addition to the many roses, the Rose Park also offers perennial beds, beautiful old trees, and a section of herbs.

Throughout the park, you will find open pavilions where you can eat your packed lunch while enjoying the view of the park. From here, it may also be possible to hear birdsong, as the park also has aviaries with exotic birds, and peacocks roam freely.

It is possible to stay overnight in shelters in the park, as long as you bring your own sleeping bag.

There are new initiatives in the park, such as the old ice cream stand being converted into a café. Throughout the opening season, you can enjoy a cup of coffee and food that can be purchased at the adjoining kiosk.

In the park, there is a pavilion built in 1988. This is used year-round for private parties, association events, concerts, etc. It can accommodate 150 people.

Admission to the park is free, and you are also welcome to bring your dog on a leash.

In close proximity to the Rose Park, you will also find the activity park, an impressive playground with plenty of opportunities for play, activity, and lots of fun.
