The Pilgrim House

PilgrimsHuset is the closest neighbor to the Cathedral and the 600-year-old monastery ruins in Maribo on Lolland. Here, guests are welcomed and guided further. The house is owned by the Lolland-Falster Refuge and administered by the Diocese of Lolland-Falster and is run on a church-based, ecumenical basis with cooperation between the Birgitta Monastery, the Cathedral and other local actors.

The house has a café, a guest house, a shop, information, the opportunity for a nice chat, silence and more. A peaceful place, open to all. The Pilgrim House is the hub for a lot of hiking routes that connect beautiful nature, monasteries, churches and manor houses

Café

In the cozy café you can get light meals, coffee, cake and cold drinks. The terrace and the house have a direct view of the lake.

Guest accommodation

The guest accommodation offers peaceful and quiet rooms with lovely beds, a private kitchen and a quiet space. The facilities can be used by everyone. Please refer to the website for room rates.

Hiking

Pilgrimage is becoming more and more popular, and two modern pilgrimage routes cross each other in Maribo. The Monastery Route and the Santiago Route are designed to take guests through the Church of Denmark and the cultural landscape, while also connecting to other pilgrimage routes in Europe.

It is free for everyone to go on the pilgrimage routes. Being renewed by traveling is an ancient experience. Through pilgrimage, one's perspectives are broadened, so that the path is not only a physical journey, but also a spiritual one. Experiencing as much as possible is not the goal of a pilgrimage. Rather, it is to take the time to relax, reflect and reflect on your self - as well as to be present in the moment.
